CBN Cup Grinding Wheel for Sharpening HSS Paper Cutter Blades

Paper cutter blades are core consumable parts of paper cutters, widely applied in papermaking and printing industries. The sharpness and service life of blades directly determine the overall working efficiency of cutting equipment.

Grinding wheel selection is critical for both manufacturing brand-new blades and resharpening worn blades after long-term service. Most manufacturers still adopt conventional abrasive wheels to grind blade edges, which leads to insufficient sharpness and short blade service life.

To solve this industry pain point, we have developed a dedicated CBN cup grinding wheel specially for high-speed steel (HSS) cutter blades. Detailed application effects and parameters are as follows:

Equipment

  • Equipment: MSQ Series End Face Blade Grinder
  • Grinding Wheel Specification
    نموذج: LB 200×100×10×12×60T
    Grade: CBN80-V-3 C100
  • Cooling Medium: Water-based Grinding Fluid
  • Workpiece Details:
    Printing industry paper cutter blade: Length 1605 mm × Width 150 mm × Thickness 13 مم
  • Grinding Process Parameters:
  1. Wheel rotational speed: 2500 دورة في الدقيقة
  2. Reciprocating traverse speed: 4.5 m/min
  3. Infeed depth per step: 0.01 مم
  4. After each 5~15 reciprocating strokes, feed another 0.01 مم. The next feeding operation can be executed when grinding sparks weaken or disappear completely.
  • Service Life of Single Grinding Wheel: One wheel can grind 500~600 pieces of blades in the above size.
  • Customer Feedback: End users report that blades sharpened by our CBN wheel feature superior sharpness and crisp cutting sound during paper cutting. The regrinding interval has been extended: from 100 reams of paper cut per sharpening to 120~150 reams.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Replacing white alumina vitrified bond wheels or brown alumina resin bond wheels with our CBN cup wheels brings prominent benefits:

  1. More eco-friendly grinding process;
  2. No increase in overall grinding wheel consumption cost;
  3. Most importantly, greatly improved blade sharpness and durability, which significantly lifts end customer satisfaction.
